  • Quietrevolution gets a boost from RWE - Quietrevolution of London has received over $8.7 million from Germany's 2nd largest energy provider, RWE.  The investment will allow mass production of the qr5 and other Quietrevolutin models to meet the tremendous worldwide demand for helical vertical-axis roof-mounted  small wind trubines (August 2008)

  • Beijing Olympic Village Receives LEED Gold - The world's athletes will live in comfort during the Olympics without placing the usual heave burden on the environment.  The buildings are designed to us 1/30 the amount of energy a typical residential complex will use.  Solar Panels and geothermal heat pumps provide much of the renewable resources with efficiency and smart systems supplying the greatest benefits.  (August 2008)

  • Brochure for Wind Power Development in SD - The Environmental Law and Policy Center has put together a SD wind energy brochure with information about the economic benefits of wind power in South Dakota (August 2008)
  • Advancement in Rare-Earth Magnet Production - Permanent magnets are used in many electrical motors, generators, and alternators.  A one-step process has been developed by Northeastern University that should decrease the cost of these magnets and increase the amount available  (August 2008)
  • Renewable Resource Estimator - Choose Renewables website has a simple online form to help estimate wind and solar energy potential for any address that you enter.  Information about possible incentives is also provided.  (August 2008)
  • Al Gore's Challenge - Al Gore challenges the United States to generate 100% of our electrical energy from renewable resources within 10 years.  While significant emphasis is placed on reducing/preventing climate change with this goal; there are significant economic benefits for almost all citizens of the United States.   • Pickens PlanT. Boone Pickens, founder and chairman of BP Capital Management is betting on wind energy.  Pickens Plan calls for us to end our addiction to foreign oil that costs us nearly $700 Billion per year.  He is for any domestic source of power generation but favors wind energy because it can be quickly used to shift our use of natural gas from electrical generation to transportation.  This will keep Billions of US Dollars in the United States and help to revitalize rural America. (July, 2008)
  • Wall-E Movie - Disney and Pixar's Wall-E places a light hearted spin on the damage we can caue to our planet.  Some with that the Environmentalism of Wall-E would have eluded to how such a future can be avoided but most would agree that the movie is excellent with or without an underlying moral message (June 2008)

  • 20% Wind Energy by 2030 - The United States Department of Energy has released a report investigating whether or not the country has the resources to supply 20% of the nation's electricity from wind power by the year 2030 (May 2008)
